One evening, first the Olive-winged Bulbul (common resident) came to take an evening bath (not shown), then the Pin-striped Tit Babbler (common resident) came in numbers to take their bath (not shown), now in the fading light the Short-tailed Babblers (common resident) came to take their baths. After the common residents finished their baths, the Siberian Blue Robin, male, (rare, passage migrant & winter vistor) came to take his bath. Then, the star of the show, the Oriental Dwarf Kingfisher, Black-backed subspecies, (rare, winter visitor) came to see if there were any fish worth eating. There were fish worth eating, and photos worth taking. Later, but I'm getting ahead of the story ...

Oh my goodness... Con you seems to be getting all the highly sought after bird species! Now that place is going to be hotter than Orchard Road! I can't imagine 30 photographers crowding around that little pond

Con, Missed this should have been there, but instead took a chance at the OHT but no show, and like Chee Wai mentioned you seem to be alway at the thick of where the action is. Great catches.

Hi Con, Very nice shots. The KF is the best of the lot although I really like the blue robin too.

The details in the two D3 shots are so sweet, even at ISO1600. And the colours of the KF shot is beautiful. Great job capturing the shots. Cheers, PTLee
