You got the botak bird (Lesser Adjutant) in the frame. I guess you have the yummy Ikan Pedas there. Were you there for the World Migratory Bird Day over the weekends? MNS has some activities there (Parit Jawa).

Nice shot. Love the reflections and the botak bird. Now you just need a tele lens to get a closeup shot of the bird.May 12, 2009 at 7:51 am #288854bluekiteMember
#1 is nice. It can be improved by enhancing the golden color or add a Cokin’s Neutral Grey filter when shot is taken. What time is it taken, 5.30 pm?

Excellent lighting and composition with #1! This one alone makes your trip unforgettable I believe.

Love #1. You’re at the right place at the right time to capture the golden light.
Nice composition and the botak bird is a big bonus to the image.

Thanks to all for the encouragement & comments!
SC, I did have Ikan, but it’s more 红烧 then Pedas. Maybe next time. .
I was there to look for Tony’s long-lost-Durian-man. Did not know it’s the World Migratory Bird Day.
More of a foodie then a birder.
Luenny, I did use the same lens at 300mm with TC1.4 to have closeups of the botak birds. Did not have ‘realistically ugly’ shots of them.
Blue Kite, the shot was taken at around 6.50pm. Lighting was not too contrasty between sky and water.
Will the ND filter help here?May 13, 2009 at 8:32 am #288940bluekiteMember
Hazel, the sky looks bright, gradual is better.

Loved the stilts and their reflections captured in the golden lights. Nice!

Well-illuminated … I like the reflections and the bird is at the right place!
Muar reminds me of Muar Cottage in FH
